 | 04:09 pm - SDCC is one week away (as stolen from NR) [cross-posted to Normality Restored]
And since that’s the case, I thought it a good idea to post a slightly narsiscistic reminder about the new Cemeterians trade available directly through SLG and finer book buying outfits with actual taste the English speaking world over. Also SLG has added the book to their online store, with the correct version of the cover art (which isn’t always correct on some of the other sites I’ve seen). SLG Store - Cemeterians Trade! I’ll be at SDCC at the SLG table (located, according to the convention website at plot 1815) on Friday and Saturday and will gladly scribble away on anything you have available (napkins, sketchbooks, bags, other peoples’ works, dogs etc) and as I said before, anyone who comes to the table with their own copy of the Cemeterians gets a free sketch of their choosing (no, you don’t have to purchase the book from SLG at the con, just have it on you… but they will be in stock at the booth of course ^__^). Signing Schedule is as follows: Fri. 10-12 (table 2B) Sat. 10-11, 1-2, 4-6 (table 5B) Both tables are likely a smaller part of the larger cog that is the great and terrible SLG creator’s horseshoe ring of doom filled to the brim with other souls generally more talented, and certainly more prolific than me. I’m not currently sure about the signing schedules for the other artists and creators, but anyone at the booth should be able to tell you when you get there - there are a lot of creators that deserve your attention and a quick thanks for helping to keep the sequential artform alive, fresh and innovative if not simply entertaining. So see everyone next week, as APril and I trudge down to the geek-prom that is SDCC. We love you all, –Aleister Aesop Rock - None Shall Pass

 | 10:52 am - Cemeterians Volume 1 is here!
It’s been a long time coming, but the original run of the Cemeterians by yours truly, and published by the loving misfits of SLG Comics is now available in a collected trade paperback volume! Yep, all 4 issues in one convenient, almost-fits-in-your-back-pocket, bundle ^__^. You should be able to find it at any major book retailer - and if they don’t have it they can order it! Also, if it’s easier, and fits more to your personal shopping disposition, I’ve been able to track it through some regular online retailers as well, such as: Amazon dot com Barnes & Nobles Borders Books All Book Stores My Comic Shop dot com Tower Books Comixology Virgin Mega Stores So there it is, Cemeterians Volume One fully collected trade edition all for under $10USD! Come on folks, Normalinauts and other assorted misfits, hooligans and beloved peoples, grab your copy wherever you can! BONUS! Anyone who has a copy come SDCC 2008, I will gladly create a custom sketch for you at no cost - just come see me at the SLG Booth (Friday or Saturday), and have your copy of Cemeterians Volume 1 in hand (I’ll sign it as well, if you don’t mind me defacing it with my scribblings)! I have a kid, the kid is expensive, I’m running out of things in my personal collections to sell to pay for him… I could use the money. And this will help spurn me into completing volume 2 that much faster ^__^ - thanks hugely, to everyone who’s picked up one (or two! or three!!!) already! We love you all, –Aleister Gnarles Barkley - Odd Couple

 | 07:05 pm - Real quick... Don't have much time since now I have to sit down and do some very last minute (in terms of workday) assignments... ugh
New webcomic and Wallpaper up on the old NR
We moved - the move is done - unpacking...? Not quite yet, but we'll get there.
Apparently Kilian ran himself into a tractor of some sort.
Salem is growing, is happy, is learning to laugh and having a good time with mommy ^__^
Broke, underpaid and trying desperately to figure something out for SDCC (a place to stay) in my head... we'll find a way.
Cheers,

 | 04:53 pm - Quickie post - NR update The site is still being polished, conjulled and otherwise gently manipulated for better and easier viewing and navigation. And all though we're not done yet (should be this week for the most part) there is some new stuff available on the site, including new wallpapers and new graphic stuffs.

...back to slavery, or at least to hanging out on Twitter (for which, I am deeply and personally ashamed, but cannot bring myself to stop).
--Aleister

PS oh! and I totally forgot, since Kilian made the post for me on Friday - but there is a new webcomic up on the old Normality as well ^__^

 | 05:07 pm - New NR Webcomic is up Friday = webcomics, and this particular Friday is no different ^__^ for all of those interested in the illustriously free entertainment of online comics, make sure to head on over to the main digs, of NR for this week's sequential exercise!
And for everyone who's been keeping track, last week on NR, we began a series of new Wallpapers for use on handy electronic computer imaging devices, and today we have brought about the second in the series!
Otherwise, it's time for me to head back over to the site - take care all, and welcome back Seanbaby!

 | 10:15 am - Friday = webcomic lovin' ...or is that love-in? I dunno, either way, it is Friday, and there is a new webcomic for Normality Restored up and available for viewing pleasure/displeasure, whatever you wish.
Also included in this week's post is some news regarding new additions to the content for the site. In celebration of Kilian and I (and Will our illustrious techie guru) getting our collective acts together on a much more regular and timely basis, we will be adding a new series of wallpapers and icons/avatars and other puter-friendly whatnots for everyone to use as they see fit. Since this is the first set in the series, we're actually opening it up with not one, but two(!) wallpaper sets which include the original 'splosion splash (partially viewable as the header-banner for the site) and a brand new one featuring Kilian, and his demonstration of making bacon sexy, bacokkake?
For anyone who reads the (very looooooooooooong) commentary with this week's comic, Kilian and I are officially embarking on a quest to make NR, well, legit. As is a fully recognized webcomic, complete with listings in the weekly Joystiq Webcomic Wrap-up and other similar ventures. So, if anyone likes webcomics, and doesn't mind taking the mere minute or two that's required to go to the site and check them out one day every week (or more often, we would be pleased with this as well), we ask that you please tell your friends - pass it on - it costs you absolutely nothing, the 'experience' is utterly and completely free(!) after all, and it would mean a great deal to us ^__^
In other news, APril and I, along with son-number-one, will be moving... again, but this time within the same city, and with another couple who will be expecting their own male-spawn by the end of the summer. They're a very sweet couple and we're very much looking forward to the new living arrangement. Glad to say that the new digs are very nice, and the area is much, much classier than our current one. That's not to say that we don't like where we're at, it's simply that this new place is that much better.
For those from the Grand Chase and Trickster communities who might be reading this, I've seen the very awesome efforts of Segamew on the fan and official Forums for organizing a bit of a Megalo Life awareness campaign, I believe referred to as, Megalo Life: R, and I wanted to not only say thank you very, very much for putting this together, but that it is my very strong hope that it will serve its purpose and allow the 'powers that be' to hear the voices of the players (as there has been apparently been no attention paid to the 16 pages of comments on the final Megalo Life strip, still coming in, more than 4 months after its release) and that they will do right by the community and give them what they want ^__^ So please, keep it up and let's see if we can make some changes!
Alright, off to work, such that it is... and with luck I'll see you all around soon.
Love you all,
--Aleister

 | 01:32 pm - Friday = no sleep, but there is a new webcomic It's friday, and I haven't slept nearly as much as I should... but Salem's more than worth it. At any rate, I'll be heading back to the Normality, to chat with the other Normalinauts, and for those interested, there's a new webcomic posted today:
Hope everyone is doing well, and special best wishes to Seanbaby, as we not only hope his current trip to the land of the rising sun is excellent and made of awesome-win, but that he returns to us once more, in one piece within his own good time! We miss you!
Cheers,

 | 12:21 pm - EA vs Take2 - Hanging out on NormalityRestored Quick bit to let you know (as stated in a previous post somewhere around here) that I am spending more and more time on mine and Kilian's official website, Normality Restored, which means I'm not here as often as I would like and have basically completely left MySpace behind (which is likely best for my crooked little soul) - but the good news is, there is a new webcomic up on NR.
 NEW WEBCOMIC
Enjoy. Love you all. Back I go to the salt mines.

 | 11:48 am - I was afraid I forgot my PW ...but alas, I didn't! It still works! Yay! I know I haven't been on here in nigh-on-forever, but I still live, and will be joining the community once more soon enough. For those that already know, APril and my son, Salem Ezra Grey was just born, on Sunday April 6th, at roughly 16:31. It was a long and difficult process for APril, but she came through as an absolute champ! In the end, the important part is that we have a new, healthy and incredibly adorable addition to the Gilgrim household. Below is a pick shortly after the delivery, with myself, APril, Salem and our amazing Doula, Sabrina (pic courtesy of Sabrina's camera).
I have some more pics that I'm hoping to getting around to uploading and sharing sometime very soon. In the meantime, while I may not be spending a great deal of time here on the LJ (the word 'Live Journal' always makes me think of the way the Monarch says it)... but I have begun to wedge myself back into the practice of participating once more in posting on NormalityRestored. So for now, it's probably easiest to catch up with me there. Right now I'm running a series of posts regarding vid-game industry news bits (basically culled from multiple sites) known as GNoI (or Game News of Interest - use your internal booming voice when reading please) and am hoping to have the first new comic up on the site tomorrow.
Otherwise, I hope everyone out there in the digital ether is doing well, sorry for not being around more lately, but as I'm sure many can imagine, this has been a period where time is at a premium. Lastly, special, special, very special thanks to everyone who's come to see us on and since that fateful Sunday, when the newest revolutionary was born ^__^ <3

 | 01:23 pm - Fifth Day update It's Friday, which would normally mean some webcomic-y stuff to throw at you all, but as everyone who's been following recent developments already knows, one 1/2 of the weekly webcomic offerings will no longer be served. So, as I sit here at my cubicle-monkey keyboard terminal blasting my ears with KMFDM I will point your digital attention back to the Normality Restored site for updates, afterthoughts and whatnot on the passing of Megalo Life, and where this week's NR strip went.
So on you go ^__^ to Normality Restored

 | 01:21 pm - An End of a Year : An End of an Era
This was completed last Thursday, and seems to have finally gone up today… all in all I was surprised by the cancellation of the series, but the reasons for the cancellation are, well, not evident at this time. However, I was lucky enough to be able to put together one final strip in order to say goodbye to all of the wonderful readers who stuck it out and came back week after week for the 30+ installments. To all that have been reading the series and allowed me, April, Wednesday and even our son, Salem, to be a part of your lives - and to all of those who enjoyed the strips, thank you, very, very much. So here it is, the final installment of Megalo Life - for Trickster Online Revolution. And so 2007 closes today, and with it this weekly webcomic serial. Thank you again to everyone who showed their support, if you would like to leave comments for the series itself, please do so in the actual comments section for the Megalo Life series at the bottom of the URL link, as I will be reading them there.
See you all next year! –Aleister

 | 05:44 pm - Behold the grandeur! Neither April or I are big on Xmas in the traditional sense of the holiday. In fact neither of us are xians, and in fact despite the commercialization it is unarguably a xian holiday. However, we do celebrate Halloween quite proudly (which I know, I know, is also a xian holiday but one that's a lot more fun!) so we put the finishing touches on our own holiday tree and set up proper in our book stuffed living room. As promised before, here are some pics of the magnificent beast what is our steampunk-ery holiday tree!

 | 12:54 pm - And on this day there were comics. The week is winding down as it does every collection of five or so days. But this is not only the end of the week, but also the day that comics come forth!!! That's right, webcomics, this time even Megalo Life got up on time, so make sure to stop by and get your double dose of weekly digitally penned scribblings!
Megalo Life - Xmas Special 3:4 - only one more to go until the exciting conclusion. If you missed one of the other parts, be sure to click the 'List' button at the bottom of the screen on the Megalo Life portion of the Trickster site (this is especially for those that missed last week's episode due to the fact that it was like 3 fucking days late, not being finished, just being published.
And Normality Restored - where we bring the exciting conclusion to the C.R.U.S.T. series, the first ever multi-part story line that Kilian and I have attempted!
And lastly, and speaking of Normality Restored, we've recently been added to the TWC list (which is Top WebComics). When we were listed, we were somewhere around the 1,000's in the ranking and by that I mean multiple 1,000's like close to the 10,000's if we're being brutally honest. But(!) as indicated by the little tracking number on the thingie below, because of votes being submitted as of yesterday, we're already in the top 600's O_O! Yay! So if you feel like it, please help us improve our ranking even more by clicking the link and verifying it with one more click on the actual site itself. ^__^ Thanks!!!
I'll be posting some other things hopefully later today, workload and the unceasing hells of Irvine permitting. Until then, take care all!

 | 12:15 pm - Post Friday Ok, so Friday is normally comic day, as in webcomics. I was conducting a sort of experiment, to see who would notice the Normality Restored webcomic (because I can see the stats!) even if I didn't announce it here. Turns out that the experiment showed some positive results, the traffic increase for the Friday, compared to other Fridays was pretty good. So it proves that people are coming to the site, better yet returning to be traumatized by my crappy scribblings and Kilian's word-abuse. Awesome!
Normality Restored - the continuation of the C.R.U.S.T. saga!!!
As for Megalo Life for Trickster Online Revolution, my other Friday webcomic... all I can say is, the fucking thing was done pretty early this week, and that the files were turned over to the right people to post 'em days ago... why it hasn't been updated to the site, I really can't say. I can't say, because it's not my job, even if the lateness makes me, personally, look bad, or unprofessional. Sorry guys, but honestly, it's not my fault. Megalo Life the second part of the 4 part Xmas special should be up - erm, eventually... when someone gets around to it...?
Megalo Life Episode 31 - is... well... as of this writing... not here... or anywhere for that matter... but in the meantime you can stare at last week's also late comic some more... because, that's fun...
Either way, I'm working on the 3rd part regardless, so whether the actual 'publishing' is on schedule or not, the work is being completed on time. But even though it's not my fault, I think it's probably my strange-christian upbringing, that compels me to feel guilty and to want to apologize, so sorry guys.
But, you CAN look at Normality Restored, it's webcomic was updated yesterday, on time and everything! W00t!
Ok, now I go, I have a ton of errands to run, and not the least of which, is trying to find a new domicile for the expanding Gilgrim fam - and that means also trying to figure out where exactly to start calling home.
So off we go. Sorry again... with luck maybe things will get fixed for the future - honestly, who knows - but cross your fingers, eyes and toes just the same.

 | 06:34 pm Webcomic Friday
Friday means webcomics it seems, as I've said before, so here is your weekly double dose of digitally penned sequential shenanigans.
Normality Restored, where we continue the thrilling retail saga of Kilian in the book mines from last week's Black Friday strip!
AND
Megalo Life for Trickster Online Revolution, where we begin the first of a 4 part mini-serial to celebrate Xmas, pitting La Befana against Santa and Rudolph! SullenGrey's amazing Drew and Jocelyn make a cameo in the pub as well!
And there you have it, the weekly update, complete with 2 brand-spanking-new-webcomics. In other news, April and I will be looking for some new digs, I think we've more than outgrown our current apartment, and I know we've outgrown the shitty rate that we're paying for it. So if there's anyone who might have a good lead on decent housing in the South County area (or even North County I suppose) don't be shy - speak up! ^__^ Honestly, I think we're going to need to move sooner rather than later.
For those that have been keeping tabs on the 'other issues' that seem to plague my days of late - a non-spoiler update would probably look something like this: Nothing much has changed, I'm still trying to research my options as best i can, but despite my efforts for the last month or so, nothing has really changed. I wish it had, I truly wish that things had been handled differently by the other parties, but I can't make them do anything, let alone, the right thing. If any updates come in I'll be sure to post 'em.
Today is the last day of November, and while we never had formally set an official day to observe our anniversaries, I think we've stumbled upon one for the future. It makes sense in many, many ways, not the least of which for what that date represents. For the record, and the future, we will be observing our anniversary on Nov 5th ^__^. Since we missed this year's (or rather, I think I did) we will probably be 'observing' the observance sometime soon (maybe Dec 5th?). I'll have to check with her ^__^.
Lastly, for updates and whatnot, I think some very good progress has been made on picking the name for our son (due at the beginning of April/end of March). As it stands, April came up with a really good name, I had a slight knee-jerk reaction to the middle portion, but the more I let the idea and the sound as a whole simmer in my brain juices, the more I'm growing to like it. So for the time being, I think the official name is coming out as:
Salem Ezra Grey.
This of course may change sometime between now, and when our son actually breather his first breath of this world's wretched air. But for now, I think that this is what we will be going with ^__^ I rather like it myself.
I think that that's all for now, I know I haven't been as active on here as I would like - certainly not updating as much as I think I should, sadly I'm sure that much of my hermit-ing, both digitally and in real life, has been the result of the "other issues" plaguing me and by extension our loving household. With any luck, maybe things will change for the better, I know we could really use a break right about now... I think a break is looooooooooong over due *shakes fist at multiverse and blows rasberries* we'll see what unfolds. If anyone has any help they could offer, believe me, both April and I are all ears on this one. I won't be able to be fully open about the situation in public posts due to the fact that they can, and I'm sure have been already, scanned by the other parties involved. But you can hit me up through my locked posts, or through my email.
Take care all, cheers,
